Tea Tree Oil comes from the leaves of the Tea Tree (Melaleuca alternifolia), which is native to New South Wales in Australia. It's a natural antiseptic long known to the indigenous tribes there, so powerful that during World War II it was made standard issue for soldiers in the Australian Army. In the 1930's it was widely used by dentists as a general antiseptic to treat hemorrhaging, mouth ulcers, pyorrhea and gingivitis. To this day it remains of practical benefit as a mouthwash for oral problems, including throat infections, coughs, and catarrh.

Recent studies have confirmed it to be highly effective in the topical treatment of various skin conditions and external ailments. Not only that, but it is safe, non-toxic, and non-irritating, leaving surrounding tissue undamaged.

Health Care Practitioners have found Tea Tree Oil to be extraordinarily useful in dealing with fungus-related diseases. These include thrush, yeast infections (e.g. Candida albicans), tinea (e.g. Athlete's Foot), fungal nail infections, certain types of dandruff, and other such conditions.
