Yacon (YAH-CONE) is an Andean plant that is a relative of the sunflower.  Yacon is unique because of its composition of carbohydrates.  Most roots have a large amount of carbohydrates that the body recognizes as sugar (glucose). Yacon, however, is a superstar due to it being a natural source of fructooligosaccharides (FOS), which is mainly fructose.  The body recognizes this differently, thus it has little effects on blood sugar levels. Yacon is also a prebiotic, which helps control flora in the intestine and gives signals to the body for probiotics to grow. This helps regulate digestion and encourages the body to heal itself from the inside out. Our yacon syrup is certified organic, delicious, rich in minerals, and low-calorie. You can use the syrup similar to how you would use any other sweetener.  It has a one of a kind flavor similar to caramel, molasses and maple syrup and is no doubt one of the healthiest natural sweeteners on the market today.
